After getting my Canon elp sd1000 (great camera btw) i was in desperate need of a camera because I was in europe so of course i needed a new camera! i was on the fence of between a sony or a canon. From the track record I had with my old canon, i picked the canon A3100 IS. Its an amazing camera! I just basically left it on Auto and it helps me macro close up pictures or what not. after reading reviews and more about the camera, i found out theres a "poster" mode that looked pretty cool! i was disappointed that i didnt get to try that mode but i will def. put it to good use! love love this camera! i dont get what the other reviewer was talking about...having their screen being cloudy. i have had my camera for a month already and its been fine. along with me dropping it. i love canon...so durable!

While not as feature rich as my old A571 IS, this little guy gets the job done quite well. Pictures are great, its easy to use, and best of all, the battery. No more stupid AAs that die at the worst possible times. This battery seems to last forever and I am never worried about picking up the camera for a picture and the battery to be dead.

This camera is exactly what we were looking for. We have another camera that is great for outdoor shots that require larger optical zoom levels. Unfortunately the camera is a little awkward to carry because of its size. The Canon A3100IS is the right size to have handy for birthday parties, picnics, etc

This a great little point-and-shoot camera. Compact, lightweight, and easy to use. Picture quality is excellent. I tried some cheaper point-and-shoot cameras and they felt flimsy and plastic. This feels like it wont break the first week you own it. Shutter speed is a tiny bit slow, but still better than my old camera. I recommend this camera if you want a decent one for a small price.

Since I had a Canon Powershot which is being replaced by this camera it was very simple to get adjusted to this camera. I like the picture quality and stability.

This is a very nice "little" camera when compared to the Canon PSA95 its replacing. My daughter always carried the A95 with her, it took great pictures but was clunky with its 4 AA batteries. The A3100 is easy to carry in a pocket or pocketbook. Indoor and outdoor pictures are great and short video clips are easy to download and very entertaining. This canon powershot is not meant to replace the DSLR or HD video cameras my daughter owns but to always be available to photograph the grandkids. So far its fulfilled that requirement.
